Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Zuelo is the olive oil arm of a Mendoza family firm founded in 1963 by the engineer Alberto Zuccardi, who devised an irrigation system for the dry ground at Maipú and used it to plant the area's first vines. Olive oil came four decades later. Production began in 2004 under Miguel Zuccardi, of the third generation, with the stated aim of building an Argentine category of its own.
The groves cover 220 hectares at the foot of the Andes, farmed with permanent ground cover and edged by native woodland. Harvest runs from March to June, and the mill stands close enough to the rows that oil is separated about 40 minutes after the fruit enters the line; after filtering it is held below 18°C. Pomace goes back to the land as compost and worm castings, and the crushed stones are burned as biomass.
The range is organised by variety. Original, Suave and Intenso are blends of selected varieties; an organic line includes a Picual monovarietal; the Koroneiki is bottled at 100%. Zuelo IG Mendoza is an Arauco-led blend, green-fruited and medium in intensity, certified under the Mendoza geographical indication, a seal the producer describes as marking both the region and the Arauco variety, the first olive to reach Argentine soil and now, in its account, the emblem of Argentine olive growing.
