Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Zitoun Marrakech describes itself as olive farmers and producers from father to son over three generations, working more than 10,000 olive trees on three sites around Marrakech. In the Ourika valley, 35 km from Marrakech and irrigated by the waters of the Oued Ourika under the High Atlas, it states that more than 1,000 Picholine Marocaine trees were planted in 1950. At Chichaoua, 70 km south of Marrakech on the old Agadir road, it works 7,000 trees in production which it gives as between eight and thirty years old, and states that about 3,000 Arbequina were planted there in 2006. At Rehamna, 40 km north of Marrakech on the national road towards Casablanca, the bearing orchard is given as 1,500 Picholine du Languedoc, 500 Arbequina and 300 Picual, with a further 3,000 Arbequina, 1,000 Picholine Marocaine and 500 Picual planted in 2005.
In 2007 the producer installed its own two-phase continuous mill on its farm in the commune of Sidi Bou Othmane, 35 km from Marrakech on the Casablanca road, a Pieralisi Fattoria 2007 line. Its account of the process runs from hand harvest into plastic crates holding under 30 kg, with milling within 24 to 36 hours; deleafing, washing and rinsing in cold water on reception; crushing and then malaxation for at least 40 minutes; separation of pomace and oil by horizontal decanter and clarification of the oil by vertical centrifuge; and storage in stainless steel tanks kept by terroir of origin.
The distinctions the producer lists are a silver medal in the ripe-fruity category and a gold medal in the green-fruity category at the Concours Paris Gourmet in 2008; second prize of merit for ripe fruity at the third edition of the national extra virgin olive oil quality competition in 2011 and again at the fourth edition in 2012; third prize at the first edition of the national exhibition at Kalaa des Sraghna in 2014; and fourth prize of merit for green fruity at the ninth edition of the national competition in 2017. The Ministry of Agriculture's published results for the sixteenth edition of that national competition, judged for the 2025/2026 season alongside SIAM and organised with INTERPROLIVE under International Olive Council rules, list SOCIETE ZITOUN DE MARRAKECH (Marrakech-Safi) in second prize for fruité mûr.
