Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Triomphe Thuccabor is the label of the Ben Ismail family farm on the heights of Toukabeur, in the Medjez el-Bab delegation of Béja governorate, in the Medjerda valley some 50 km from Tunis. Kapitalis dates the family reserve to 1966 and describes Maher Ben Ismaïl as an olive oil taster approved by the International Olive Council; Tunisie.co records the brand launched commercially in 2016 by Mohamed Ben Ismail with his sons Maher and Salah, and gives the farm about 5,000 olive trees of the Chetoui variety. The International Olive Council's World Catalogue of Olive Varieties records Chetoui as originating at Manouba in the north of Tunisia, cultivated across almost the whole north of the country, accounting for nearly 12 per cent of the olive area and 30 per cent of the trees, and yielding an oil of intense green almond fruitiness with bitter and pungent taste and oleic acid between 63 and 70 per cent.
Thuccabor is the Latin name of Toukabeur, and Kapitalis reports the brand named after the triumphal arch standing at the entrance of the family estate. The Institut National du Patrimoine's national register of classified monuments lists, for Toukabeur in the Mejz el Bab delegation, the Arc de Sextilius Celsus together with a mausoleum, thermae, a three-monolith gate and a basin, all classified on 19 March 1894; a further section of the same register lists at Toukaber a theatre at Choud el Batel, Roman cisterns, a temple and a triumphal arch, classified on the same date.
The Centre Technique de l'Agriculture Biologique, under Tunisia's Ministry of Agriculture, carries Mohamed Ben Ismail on its published list of organic olive growers in Béja governorate. In the competition record, the Premio Biol's own 2025 medal list prints "Réserve Familiale Ben Ismail — Triomphe Thuccabor — TUNISIA — EXTRAGOLD", and the Premio Biol site's Tunisia page carries the same producer; the Tunisian Monitor reports it as an eighth consecutive Extra Gold and notes that the Italian competition judges oils from olives picked early in the season, before mid-November. Webmanagercenter reported a gold medal and a best-in-category prize at a Los Angeles competition on 2 March 2022, describing Tunisia as the only African and Arab country to take that prize, and a third national gold from the Office National de l'Huile in February 2022. L'Économiste Maghrébin's account of that fifth ONH national competition lists the intense green fruity gold as "Triomphe / Domaine Ben Smail – Coupage de variétés Toukabeur", entered as a blend of varieties, where the rest of the coverage describes the oil as a Chetoui monovarietal; both readings are set down as they stand.
Tunisie.co records that the estate opened what it describes as Tunisia's first olive oil bar in 2016, with an on-site shop and an educational space running weekly workshops, and Kapitalis describes tasting workshops for oil and local products together with guided visits taking in the farm and the mill. The same interview records collaboration with healthcare establishments in Tokyo and Canada, and Tunisie.co lists Japan, France and Switzerland among the estate's export destinations.
