Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Terra Delyssa is the bottled brand of CHO Group, which traces itself to a traditional mill at Sakiet Eddaier, in the olive groves of Sfax, in 1996. The group sold in bulk to European co-packers before putting its own name on a bottle, and took that name from Elyssa, the queen of Carthage's foundation story, giving the label a horse with an olive branch for a mane after the horse struck on Carthaginian coins. Abdelaziz Makhloufi is published as founder and chief executive.
By the group's own figures it planted 4,000 hectares of olive trees in 2020, runs extraction mills in the Sfax, Zarzis and Gafsa governorates with a combined 850 tonnes a day, holds 30,000 tonnes of storage and reaches 42 countries. Its L-CHO laboratory is ISO 17025 accredited and approved by the International Olive Council for quality, purity and contaminant analyses, and organic certification is held under the Tunisian BIO TN, North American NOP, Brazilian and Japanese JAS schemes. The group joined IBM Food Trust in February 2020 and states it was the first olive producer to trace production end to end on that blockchain, from grove to bottle.
At the New York International Olive Oil Competition, Terra Delyssa won Gold in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and Silver in 2021 and 2025; the organic Chemlali bottling won Gold in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and Silver in 2020, 2021 and 2025. It also records a first prize for light green fruitiness in the quality class of the International Olive Council's Mario Solinas Award in 2022.
