Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Paka runs from two countries: Paka Sphk in Albania, based at Ferras near Levan in the Fier district, and Paka Canada Inc. in Quebec. It launched in the autumn of 2022 and is named after the son of its two promoters, Marie-Neige, who is Canadian, and Kreshnik, who is Albanian — a name the project uses to mark the tie between two families. The reason given for starting it is a market gap: growers with no route to outside buyers were leaving fruit unpicked, selling oil at a loss, or cutting olive trees down.
The oil is mostly Kalinjot, the Albanian cultivar rooted in the Vlorë region, which the company's own account of Albanian olive growing puts at close to half of all plantings for oil and table olives in a country that recorded 10.7 million olive trees in 2021. Fruit arrives hand-picked from small local producers, on holdings the company describes as averaging 250 trees each; each delivery is logged with the grower's details, stored by variety in a tank under its own lot code, and given a QR code at bottling that returns that lot's record. The first pressing year, 2023, came in well under expectation. Certification followed in the same season — HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 — with Halal certification since.
