Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Oro di Milas is the label of Eminems Olive Oil, in Milas, in Muğla province, southwestern Turkey. Emine Colin was born in Istanbul, moved to the United States at nineteen, served with the US Army Dental Corps to the rank of Major, then built an endodontic practice in northern California. In December 2020, visiting family, she and her husband Mark stopped in Milas and bought a property in disrepair from an elderly owner whose family had left for the cities. Four orchards followed, which the producer's land page totals at 300 acres and 8,000 trees, and a later account on the same site at nearly 10,000 trees across roughly 150 hectares. The oldest, which the company believes to be more than 600 years old, became its emblem.
Everything is Memecik, the variety behind Milas Zeytinyağı, on the EU register as a protected designation of origin since 2020. Memecik takes drought well, so the orchards go unirrigated. Picking runs from October into November and is done by hand, the terrain ruling out machines; sorting is manual and the fruit is milled the same day, within six to eight hours, on a Mori-Tem plant, with malaxation held below 26°C for no more than twenty minutes. Anita Zachou tastes the oil from each orchard and composes the blend; aroma analysis is done at the Kalamata Olive Oil Taste Laboratory of the University of the Peloponnese, an IOC-accredited panel. Four consecutive Gold Awards have come from the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the producer listing New York recognition in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
