Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Olivurla is the label of the Ayerya Rüzgarlı Vadi Çiftliği at Urla, on the İzmir peninsula, trading as TURLA Gıda Ltd Şti. The farm's own about page dates its olive plantations to 1998 and puts the estate at 12,000 olive trees in total, and states that since 2003 it has held what it describes as the first organic farming certificate issued at Urla. The page gives the Gemlik variety as what it grows, hand-picked and boxed, and says the oil is pressed at its TURLA organic olive and olive oil plant on a modern continuous line, cold at 23 to 27 degrees, without contact with air; it gives the acidity of the resulting oil as 0.22 per cent. The plant itself the page places at Kuşçular village and dates to 2013, built with support from İZKA and running on solar systems, and describes it as the only olive oil plant in the region generating clean energy. The aromas — fresh grass, green almond, green apple, green tomato, artichoke — the page attributes to the microclimate of the Yağcılar village area of Urla and the constant northerly wind that crosses it.
The farm's awards page names Erdinç, Zerrin and Pelin Omuroğlu as the people behind the label, and opens by placing the estate against Klazomenai, the Ionian city on whose site Urla stands, which the page describes as holding the world's first olive oil installation worked by the separation method, dating to the 6th century BC. The same page describes BIOL as an Italian competition open only to organic oils, in which entries pass a chemical analysis reported at no less than ten pages and a check on organic status before a panel drawn from around the world tastes them, with results classified as extra gold, gold and silver. It records a BIOL 2015 Silver Medal and a BIOL 2017 Gold Medal for Olivurla; states that the 2015 silver was won by an oil made from Domat variety olives grown on the Ayerya Rüzgarlı Vadi estate; and states that the same oil appears in the 2013–2014 catalogue of the Flos Olei guide.
