Olive Auction built this page from public records so buyers can find the estate. Its own people can claim it at no cost — complete the story, list lots, answer buyers.
After a claim, we confirm by emailEverything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.
Knolive's grove lies inside the Parque Natural de la Subbética Cordobesa, in the belt of old olive trees ringing La Tiñosa, the highest point in the province of Córdoba. Picuda and hojiblanca dominate the planting, and picking is done by hand — the ground is steep enough that the producer calls mechanisation practically impossible. The company works out of Priego de Córdoba, whose oils carry a long competition record of their own: by Knolive's own account, 37 awards went to oils of that region from the International Olive Council in consecutive years between 2001 and 2016.
A published survey of the orchards puts the operation at about 98 hectares and roughly 9,800 trees between 600 and 800 metres, split about evenly between picual, picuda and hojiblanca, dates the family's start in olive growing to 1858, and counts Alberto Yévenes García, who runs the company, as the sixth generation. Regional trade press gives the same generational count and records 43 export markets, an 85 per cent export share and more than 200 international awards over five years.
Knolive's own awards page lists a third prize for mild green fruitiness at the International Olive Council's Mario Solinas Quality Award in 2017, Gold at the NYIOOC in 2017, 2018 and 2019, and first place in the non-organic category of the EVOO World Ranking in 2018 — the placing the company still carries on its front page as best extra virgin olive oil in the world for the 2017/2018 harvest.
