What the public record already says

Everything here comes from public sources — award lists, certification registers, the territory inventories. The rest of the story — the family, the grove, the real age of the trees, this year's lab sheet — only the mill can tell, and it is the part buyers bid on.

How it came to be

The story so far

In Evrychou, in Cyprus's Solea Valley, Atsas farms land inside the UN buffer zone, which the producer credits with keeping the ground undisturbed through decades when the area saw little development. Incorporated as a family agricultural enterprise in 2012, Atsas built its groves on that inheritance: some of the oldest trees are ones the farm attributes to more than 2,000 years of age, growing alongside newer plantings of Koroneiki and Kalamon. Everything is farmed organically and pressed on site. The farm's 2020 harvest was measured at 4,947 mg/kg total phenolic content — by the producer's account the highest reading among more than 7,800 samples from 15 countries, and among the highest ever recorded for an extra virgin olive oil. Two flagship bottlings carry that intensity forward: the Gold Blend, a cold-pressed, unfiltered mix of Kalamon and Koroneiki, and the Limited Edition, a pure Kalamon run capped at 200 bottles and the highest-phenolic oil the farm makes. Recognition has kept pace with the numbers — a Gold Award at the Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards in 2024, and in 2026 a Silver in the Quality Category at Japan's International Olive Oil Prize, chosen from nearly 700 entries across 26 countries.
